Digital decluttering

I noticed a while back that my email inboxes where getting filled up mostly by newsletters/send outs from places that I had bought something online. Everyday I would go through them and delete them (since I can’t stand an inbox with untreated emails). It wasn’t until recently that I actually thought of how much time I must spend cumulatively deleting emails than I didn’t want to get in the first place! I decided that for each email that was from companies that wanted to sell me things or something I followed but noticed that I didn’t read should immediately be unsubscribed from.

It took a couple extra seconds per email at first but now it feels fantastic to have removed the digital clutter in my life. It also helps with sticking to my buy nothing new goal to not be exposed to online buying opportunities every day.
